Operational Skills of Trailer Concrete Pump
Although operational guidance for a trailer concrete pump may vary from one supplier to another, there are some universal operational skills which operators should pay attention to.
First, the ground surface supporting the trailer concrete pump should be flat and solid. The pump, which should be placed horizontally on and fastened steadily to the standing legs, should stands in a favorite location where it’s convenient for the mixer truck to travel around and for the pump to deliver the finished concrete in the most energy-saving way. Second, users should take both features of construction site and pouring plan into account while preparing deliver pipes for a trailer concrete pump. They should check whether the pump is able to send concrete to the distance matching the pipe length which should be as short as possible. Elbow or flexible pipes are not recommended. It’s better to place new pipes, not old ones, in the parts under more pressure. Third, in need of vertical piping, horizontal pipes of an appropriate length should be arranged between a trailer concrete pump and vertical delivery pipes so that possible reflux can be stopped efficiently. Normally speaking the length of the horizontal pipe should not be smaller than that of the vertical pipe. In case of limited site area, elbow or flexible pipe serves as an alternative. Fourth, in hot seasons concrete falls faster because of quick loss of water so there is a danger that the delivery pipe will get clogged. A simple way to relieve the problem is to cover the pipe with wet cloth or other materials to avoid direct exposure to the sunshine. In winter, however, heat-maintaining measures should be taken to keep concrete from being frozen in the delivery pipe.
